Furry Creek
Furry Creek is named for Oliver Furry, a trapper turned prospector who discovered the immense mining potential of the area around 1893.
Furry Creek is a Master-Planned Community. The Official Community Plan (OCP) calls for this 1,036 acre site to become a community of up to 920 homes, with a population base of roughly 2,200. This would see Furry Creek grow to approximately twice the size of Lions Bay by comparison. A key feature of the development plan is to retain approximately half of the lands in a "natural state", allowing residents and vistors alike to enjoy this fabulous area overlooking Howe Sound and the Coastal Mountains.
